Allison Stokke is an 18 year old pole vaulter who’s reaching celebrity status online for being American, active, and decent looking. Currently a senior at Newport Harbor in Orange County, CA she plans to attend Berkeley when she finishes high school.
For 10 years, she was also a gymnast!

Leave the girl alone man, I don’t get it, she’s obviously got potential to be an Olympian, and I read an article in the newspaper about her down here in Australia, where they didn’t mention her PB or anything, just that she was “famous for being pretty”. It seems ridiculous to me that track and field is so disrespected that only when either a doping scandal breaks out, or a pretty girl does well in the sport do we get media coverage.
I wish her all the best in her track career, and this unwanted attention isn’t helping at all, but its the way of the world I suppose and I just hope she keeps vaulting and doesn’t stop because of this. Just remember, all the attention is of a superficial nature anyway, so it doesn’t actually MEAN anything…
I knowwww…..I’m in track and I just hate that it isn’t treated fairly. The foot race is one of a very select few standard original Olympic trials, primarily based on warfare abilities. The first four games were footraces…the first being the stadion. People are so consumed by organized sports that athletics like pole vaulting are so often unnoticed – it is just the age in which we live.
As to the former…well, obviously the most important focus SHOULD be on her prowess. What I don’t like is the statements the men below are writing….that’s just sick. There is a deeper meaning to life than *** and sexual image – accomplishment, determination, fortitude, passion.
In qualifying my statement, I also find her very cute, which is only natural, and her attractiveness may be phrased as “icing on the cake”. But there is a thin line between that and what the other guys below this post are saying.

I am 18 and I’m attracted to her does that make me sick? Why shouldn’t a 40 year old be sexually attracted to her? It’s natural biology. We as a society set arbitrary ages as to what makes people “adults” or “children” but they are just arbitrary. Animals don’t adhere to these criteria. People aren’t sick for being physically attracted to 18 year olds. It seems pretty natural to me.

Will say though, (1) it’s an insult for the media to say she’s “famous for being pretty” — she’s earned her skills and shouldn’t be accused of succeeding in sport just because she’s attractive. (2) Hopefully she will be able to stay focused on her goals in athletics. You don’t get the chance to do this later in life, and it’d be a damn shame to throw it away or lose the edge because of some stupid romance.
