Harisu / Ha Ri-su / 하리수 / 河莉秀
Even in the face of stolen videotapes, Harisu, a singer, TV star, and actress from South Korea keeps her head up. Her Korean Name, Lee Kyung-eun, is an adaptation and feminization of her original male name, Lee Kyung-yup. Even though she was born male, after reassignment surgery she won a court case to officially mark her gender as female:
The most well-known transgender celebrity in South Korea is popular entertainer Harisu, who underwent a male-to-female … operation. The actress, singer, and model was allowed by a district court to legally switch her [gender] from male to female in December 2002.

I’ve loved Harisu for so long. She’s so beautiful, and I really look up to her. I mean, every time I see anything about her it either praises or criticises her status as “transgender”. The thing is, she doesn’t want to be thought of as transgender, and that is not even something I think about when I see her. hi… i am a transexual girl too.i had suffered many problem to change my *** overseas and i am sure harisu( my friend and my sister) too. so i just say one who made his descision to change *** has enough parameter of his/her favorite *** or even more. it doesnt matter how she will be beautiful.now i am as old as harisu and many say me georges too. any way that was part of our own hard life that no one except us can understant how did it pass!!!
