Thomas Beattie “Pregnant Man”
Thomas Beattie, from Bend Oregon, is a transgendered pregnant man who has appeared on Oprah, and is expecting the impending birth of his child. “Wanting to have a biological child is neither a male nor female desire, but a human desire,” he has said. In order to have the baby, Thomas chose to keep his female reproductive organs, although to become legally a man he had chest reconstruction and testosterone therapy.

Critics say that because he “was never actually a man, a masculine looking woman had a baby” and dismiss Thomas’ pregnancy as a publicity stunt. After all, it’s true that while Thomas Beattie is cosmetically a man, biologically she is a woman, and still capable of female reproduction. What do you think? Wave of the future, or sad stunt?

Although he was not born a man, but from all he’s done, he’s worth considering more than a man. He’s an oustanding and devoted human beings ever.

This is an abomination. This person was created by God a woman and a woman she will be in the eyes of God until the end of time. God so planned from the beginning that it would be a woman to have children and that is the way it will be. We do not have the authority to call a person woman or man, no matter what we as humans say this person is she will always be a woman.
so if you had breast reduction isn’t better for the baby to be feed with breast milk because of the nutrients and stuff how is he going to pull that one off
Actually, his wife is going to be breastfeeding. She had a hysterectomy 2 years ago, which is why HE carried the child. She can still breastfeed with hormone therapy to start the milk. I think it’s great that they can have a child together.

She was a beautiful woman. I mean, at least in this one photo, she was stunning. What in God’s name? The doctor who performed surgery on this woman and made her look like that with those scars across her chest, and that hair on her face..I mean, really, the doctor should be castrated. To take a woman this beautiful and butcher her up like this. It is a crime against God.
Oddly enough the Doctor that performed the surgery is a transgender his or herself. So what he was born with has already been cut off.But God himself will judge those who try to play God while here on earth.Heaven help them all….They are going to need all the help they can get come Judgment Day!!!
she was so pretty before he became a male…but you know what to the people who were frowning at him because he went against God. well newsfalsh God knew that she was going to change herself to be a male rather than a female and if you really knew your facts you would also know that God still loves him for who he is, even if he went against him… oh well thats his choice.
I think it’s awesome. I think if he wanted the publicity he’d have called up STAR magazine the minute the lines turned pink on the prego test. He’s not the one that tried to get the attention, but once the calls started coming in, why not make a little money from it? Who cares? They’re happy. Honestly, I am so sick and tired of hearing about this “man” because it’s not a man at all. I’m tired of hearing people say it’s a pregnant man just to get everyone’s attention. SHE’S NOT A MAN! And, to be completely honest here, I really don’t see why what he/she is doing is so significant. Women have babies all the time…so what? What, just because she decided to have a *** change to become a man she’s an incredible, awe-inspiring human being because now she’s giving birth as a man? You know, I had a hole in the bottom of my foot. It was a little black sorta hole in my foot, and you’ll never guess, it became a wart. A tiny little black foot wart. Who would have thunk??? And then it had tiny little warts too! A hole that becomes a wart, unbelievable. Nice photos in this article though, she/he was a cute kid too. I will call him a him though because that’s what he wants and I don’t mind, I’m nice. How does the birth happen? There must a birth canal somewhere in there? Not a birth I would particularily care to watch though. Reminiscent of passing kidney stones.

You know what, Living in Utah, we have alot of stigma about mormons, I have lived with this my whole life with people asking are you a polygamist?? I just ignore their comments because I know who I am, I am telling you to do the same. You two, after watching the birth and pregnancy are a loving couple and wonderful parents, As me and my husband watched we thought this is rediculous! SO what if He wants a baby, that is a wonderful thing. If He has the power and the equipment to carry a baby and can provide this little girl a loving home- we agree its a wonderful thing! So what, Your lifestyle is your business, No-one elses, Years ago people didn't accept african americans, Now its the norm, That I am grateful, years ago no one wanted to open their minds to transgender, *** or *******, So what, If thats what makes you happy, MORE power to you!! they need to stop saying that it is the first pregnant man. the only thing man about her is that she had breast reductions and takes hormone therapy. if you look at the chromosomes it is a woman not a man. It is one of the first transgenders to have a baby. that is the bottom line. If any of you have ever had babies of your own you will know that having a baby is the most beautiful and natural thing in the world! Sure, its a bit unusual for a transgender man to carry a baby, but it is wonderful nonetheless!!
You all need to open your minds, and for all those religious types who oppose this, I think, personally, that God would be proud of Mr Beattie! What he has achieved should be celebrated, not condemned!
I would like firstly to say Congratulations……..there are people out there who do not understand, why as a man/woman you would want to give birth, to be honest nor do I. But on a positive note, there are thousands of children, who are being abused and neglected, on the other hand you and your wife, look like two loving and caring parents and it's a shame that those thousand of children will not have the love and support of two loving human beings. The media has hyped this unique situation up and you have now become a target for bigots. God is the only one who can judge you, it is not for us mere human beings to do so. My Question is? How Do you explain all of this to your daughter Susan when she is 20 or so. I just feel for Susan. How is she suppose to find someone and explain all this to her boyfriend or girlfriend. Is this cycle to keep going. I would feel different knowing that my parents are different. Susan will have to defend her parents all the time. Susan will have to find away to live with this. Susan is loved is loved by both of her parents. What we are doing to the Beaties, is different, but it is their lives and Susans. We just need to let them live their lives and interfere and be so involved.

I do not agree with you, joy… Mr. Beattie happens to live here in Manchester, NH in a suburban area, and when i found out, i was really excited but what you said was INEXCUSABLE, i was happy, and very proud for the beattie's because his wife could not conceive, he did, and well, i support them 100%.

God doesn’t know anything…let’s look at her chromosomes, they show XX so it is a WOMAN. Plastic surgery can make miracles happen COSMETICALLY, however biologically she is still a SHE.
I think this woman is disgusting, right one thing if you want to become a man then you will not want to have the feeling of a women pregnant. People who have that sense of wanting to change sexes do not have any desire to be who they once was, and this guy doing this is just selfish to the child and greedy and attention seeking. My take on this-
God made her a woman.
God gave her the will to become a man for her partner.
God helped her in this process.
She delivering a baby..not a great news. Her reproductive organ is intact and has not been changed as a process to become him.
He delivering a baby against all odds..to make his family complete and happy for that matter…yes commendable.
If he and his partner can raise the kid in a happy environment…why not? They have made it happen and are proud of it and we should be delighted for their small little happy world that they have.
We should live and let live! And rejoice in the fact that god has given us the choice to become what we want to and be grateful to the almighty for showering his blessings in what we want to achieve.

I’m sorry but I don’t agree with all the those praising him for what he did. If God wanted men to have babies, he could have just made Adam have a baby instead of creating Eve. If she still had the desire to have biological children, why didn’t she just stay a girl? She still could have married her partner and gotten IVF treatment to have a biological child…I mean there is a 66 year old women who just had a child that same way!!! There is also the option of adoption. If they have so much love, why not give it to an unfortunate child and give it a home? I think that the people who say that she did this for publicity and money are COMPLETELY right!!! No one in their right mind would do this. Even all that controversy over octomom was bad, at least she is a WOMAN!!!

I think it’s a ridiculous publicity stunt myself. I’m a transgender myself, and this **** that Thomas pulled is a disgrace to all of the rest of us who went through the surgery to actually become the opposite ***. I’m not the only one who still considers her to be female, simply because she didn’t get the reproductive organs removed. We had to do it in order to feel right in our bodies. She obviously didn’t do it because she was uncomfortable as a female, but because she wanted the attention that being a pregnant “man” would get for her.

When it comes to adoption, we all know that it is preferable for one to have his or her own children. They may one day consider that, but that was not their choice. They were willing and able to do it this way; and so they did.
Let it be said, there is only this much controversy because you make it so. His life wouldn’t be so appealing to all of you if he didn’t have a child. He is not the first, nor will he be the last. He is just the first that you have ever heard of. There are plenty of women who have given birth and later become men because that is who they truly believed themself to be.
If you know what it is like to be trapped by something and feeling that there is no way out, or if you yourself have been prosecuted or separated because others thought you were different, whether it be by race, religion, sexuality, or gender, you should offer them support and encouragement instead of a condemning tongue.
If you are not familiar with any issue that has effected your neighbor, then maybe it is time that you stepped out of your little box. The world isn’t black and white, right or wrong. If you were an educated adult, I am sure you would know that.
